Police Arrest Alleged Heroin Dealer After Salem Street Foot Chase

Patrick Joseph, 27, of Malden was arrested for alleged class A drug distrubtion.

Malden Police said they arrested an alleged Rockwell Street heroin dealer after a foot chase near Salem and Faulkner Streets last week.

Patrick Joseph, 27, of Malden, sped away from police on a bicycle as they gave chase on foot around 2 p.m. on July 3, Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb said.

Detectives Michelet Montina and Steven Fitzpatrick gave chase and later found Joseph hiding under a storage unit.

"Another job well done by the drug unit, under the direction of Sgt. (Richard) Correale," Gatcomb wrote in an email.

Joseph was charged with Class A drug distribution and had his bicycle seized under state forfeiture laws.
