Men, Arrested After Malden Shootout, Found Guilty

The men allegedly robbed Saugusbank before the shootout.

Two men, who allegedly robbed Saugusbank in Saugus and then were involved in a shootout with police in Malden on March 23, 2012 prior to their arrests, have been found guilty on multiple charges by a Salem Superior Court jury, according to Lynn’s Daily Item.

Michael Ginnetti, 40, of Winthrop, was convicted of 10 of the 11 charges against him, Gabriel Megna, 50, of East Boston, on eight of the nine against him, according to the report.

The men, who were scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday morning, could get life in prison, the Daily Item reports.

A third suspect, 35-year-old William Ekasala, of East Boston, was fatally shot by police during the shootout near 500 Broadway in Malden, according to the report.
