Interesting perspective Anon - Because Chris gave me a chance on the Patch, I am starting to get noticed outside of Malden - today, no I do not get paid - I do it because I love doing it and I am perfecting my skill. Who knows what the future will hold.....

ReplyAnimal cruelty? lol that is funny....Animal cruelty was two dogs left to die in West Virginia. Found emaciated, sores on their tiny bodies, covered in fleas. Kindness was the foster parents that took them in instead of watching them go to a kill shelter and they loved and cared for them. A rescue organization contacted the Northeast Animal Shelter, and they said YES we will take them while another group of volunteers searched for a loving home. They have filled our lives with love, joy and happiness and we have done the same to them.

ReplyAgain, I agree - but I have to ask - does that mean the schools should be allowed to run survey's like this without parental involvement?

I agree with everything your saying Applebottome02148 but I do not always like the way educators educate or put the information out there.... even something as simple as BMI gets messed up - I received a letter yesterday about my daughters BMI and that the fact that she is considered obese on their "chart".... as is my 6'4 176 lb 13 year old, incredibly thin, son....problem is neither is obese they are athletic with muscle mass (me on the other hand is a different story lol) (even though they have been told by professionals) Education is great....but lets keep the parents informed also. Thankfully, because they have always been off the chart, I was able to have the "scale" conversation with them when they were young. (especially with my impressionable body image conscious 15 year old daughter...)

Well said! Living in a mixed family, this is something I deal with often. Change is happening. Where, at one time, we were faced with daily raciest comments - now I can happily say - they are few and far between.
