Michael B Elvale. I totally agree with you. That sad part is, it only takes one complaint from one person. I remember this past Christmas the Registry in Braintree had a small xmas tree in the entry and ONE SINGLE PERSON complained and they removed it. It's time WE ALL SPEAK UP AND SAY WE ARE OFFENDED!!!!!!!!

ReplyI would have to say, go to college. When I graduated high school many many years ago, I just wanted to start work. I was so sick of school by then. It has been one of my biggest regrets. If you need to take a year off, do it, but get that degree. Don't end up like me. Although they say it's never too late, I can't see myself going to college now. One more thing, NO CREDIT CARDS!!!!!!! Start a savings account.

ReplyI agree with Al Bruce. Condo's was the first thing that came to my mind. He wants to force the tenants out, and sell the units as condo's. I also agree that the city should have a say in who buys the apartment buildings. This guy does not sound like a nice person. I wish all the tenants the best of luck.

ReplyI am not a fan of Mitt Romney, nor am I a fan of bullying, but this was a very long time ago. How many of us descent people have done something we aren't proud of when we were kids. This is just plain rediculous.

ReplyI also have been getting my gas from King gas at the corner of Maplewood and Eastern Ave and haven't had any problems. The attendant is always very friendly (and very busy). I do, however, watch carefully how much gas he pumps.

On the article BLACK HISTORY MONTH: Louise Stokes Fraser

ReplyHow sad for Ms. Stokes. It sounds like she was a great athlete and worked hard to get to the Olympics only to have her coach replace her twice. What a strong and determined woman to actually make it to the Olypics twice. I'm very happy that Malden showed class and honored her with a parade and later named the field house after her. Prejudice is an ugly thing.

I'm a little late in commenting but I have to say something.
Diana,
You still don't get the entire picture. Yes, it's not the end of the world that the children can't celebrate birthdays, Valentines day, Christmas and anything else in school. The problem is that this WILL NOT end here. If we just keep sitting back and accepting these "rules" because someone somewhere will be insulted, it will continue and at some point it will start to affect our everyday lives. How will you feel in the future if you are told that you are no longer allowed to display Christmas decorations in your home? How will you feel if you are told that you cannot wear that outfit because it offends someone. If we don't stand up for our rights now, it will come to this some day.
