ReplyMaybe the mayor needs to put money in to Police on the street to stop the shootings and firefighters instead spending all his time on taking down city hall, moving the city yard, and the ball park! Stop campaigning Mr Mayor you won....Now address the REAL Issues!!!!

ReplyPeople this to me looks like dollars and cents. The mayor is looking to pay double for a property that doesnt belong there in the first place. What about the area its in? A commercial are with no homeowners. Who wants to live next to a city yard with trucks in and out all day long. Additionally does it make sense to move a tax paying business for a city yard that does not pay taxes. The mayor has his own agenda and I have personal knowledge of him trying to move out local business and bring in his own developers. So much for the businesses that have been here for 50 years!

ReplyI am absolutely not a member of the school other than a very concerned parent who wants the best for his kids! I have plenty of my own issues with the school but this is clearly not one of them. I would however agree that the person watching the video also needs to be questioned on his/her morals but at the same time they are not alone in a room with my child so it doesn't concern me. I would love to see if the teacher had been a women and stared in a movie as this would you have the same reaction? Are you ok with a teacher dating a student if that student is at another school? Its on their own time! You ALL need to remember it is about the KIDS! No matter how much they looked up to this guy what he did set a poor example of his judgment. Had your child went to him and asked how they could make extra money would you be comfortable in his answer? If your child went and confided in this trusted individual with an issue or problem in their personal life would you be comfortable with the answer?
Please wake up people and understand its over, he's gone, and the kids are SAfe! -

ReplyYes this school has many issues. Let me list them out. Ranked top in the state, nationally noticed for top education in public schools, kids with early acceptance to college, 90+ % kids graduating and going to a 4 year school. I can see why your happy not to send your child there.

Easy to support something in theory but I think if your child was supposed to go for extra help and be alone with a teacher with this background and it was frequent you might start having concerns. A schools first priority is to protect our children, risks for some politically correct reason should not be OK. If that person then molested someone later who would be held responsible once this information was known as it was? Most of you would turn on the decision you are finding fault with today. Remember many who turn to porn were abused as children. And who in large numbers abuses children later… yes child abusers. Risk not worth it. -

ReplyTo clarify for everyone it was fox news that publicized this story not the school. There I probably many different thoughts on this but at the basis of the situation. Is a teacher judgement. I want a teacher who is a role model for my kids and have GOOD JUDGEMENT and he clearly didn't. I know people who could use extra mOney that are teachers but found other jobs that may be more appropriate.

Janet still not sure why you are trying to bash the school. The fact is its one of the top schools in the state. If that bothers you and you dont want your child to have a top notch education thats fine. The issue is the city is in need of funds as it is. The state annouced cuts in local aid again, cost are rising on all expenses and we are fighting about spending more money on a CITY YARD? Janet please take your head out of the dark space its in and understand if you ran your personal finances like this it wouldnt take long to take you down. Now more than ever we need to be laser focused on spending monney where its NEEDED i.e Police, FIre, School....Again not a facility to have our trash and trucks park.
