Officials said a 15-year-old girl was forced into prostitution by a Boston-area couple.
A Boston-area couple, including a Malden man, were arrested Tueday for the alleged sex trafficking of a minor. David Minasian, 24, of Malden and Madonna Say, 23, of Lynn, were charged with alleged sex trafficking of a child and sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion. According to a press release from the US Attorney's office, investigators found Minasian had transported a 15-year-old girl to Florida and "caused her to engage in prostitution." The two allegedly returned to Massachusetts, where Minasian and Say allegedly took sexually-themed photographs of the victim in lingerie. Malden police pursue a male suspect who allegedly fired a handgun into the air following an argument. The victim also fled the scene.
Malden Police have issued a "Be on the Lookout" advisory for a man who allegedly fired a handgun into the air during an argument near Newton Street early Tuesday morning. While no official account from the police department was available during the late hour, police scanner transmissions around 2 a.m. noted multiple calls about the incident. Police were reportedly later able to recover evidence of a shooting from the scene. The suspect was described as a black male in his early- to mid-20s, wearing a dark coat with a skinny build. He reportedly fled in a white Toyota Carolla with other passengers. The victim reportedly fled on foot. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Malden Detectives Unit at 781-397-7181.

Mayor Christenson will be joined by Lieutenant Kevin Molis of the Police Department and Deputy Fire Chief Jack Colangeli of the Fire Department, who will be on hand to answer questions and address concerns. “We encourage seniors to come and voice their safety concerns and hear the best ways to stay safe,” said Mayor Christenson. “While this meeting will be geared towards seniors, all are welcome to attend.” Each month the Mayor holds a meeting in a different part of the city.

Police reported no injuries at the scene, with the robbery reportedly carried out by passed note.
Both the Malden Police and FBI are investigating a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank on Lebanon St. Thursday afternoon, a detective has confirmed. A male suspect reportedly passed a note with demands around 1:20 p.m. and then fled in the direction of Hartshorn Ave. and the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, according to police scanner reports. The suspect was described as a white male, 30-to-49 years of age with some facial hair and dark colored pants. Police later reportedly recovered clothes believed to be abanonded by the suspect as he fled the scene. Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb said that there were no injuries.

A Malden resident is facing allegations she inappropriately used sick time to pursue a career in real estate.
A Middlesex County Sheriff's Office employee is facing criminal fraud charges for allegedly working another job while she remained on medical leave from the sheriff's office. Joyce Drinkwater, 67, of Malden was charged on Nov. 19 with knowingly presenting a fraudulent claim to a public employer for a benefit, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office. Drinkwater allegedly collected her full salary as she stayed on medical leave from the sheriff's office. Drinkwater, who worked in the sheriff's payroll office, took medical leave in June and when that ended she allegedly used her unused sick time remain out on leave, according to the DA's office.
