Malden Businessman And Wife Sponsor Theatre Fundraiser

The owner of Combined Properties Inc, Maldonian John Pereira, and his wife Wendy are bringing "The Full Monty" to Stoneham Theater to raise money for Mystic Valley Elder Services.

Senior Transportation Program Up, Running, And Appreciated

A Malden senior has been among the first to test out the Mystic Valley Elder Services TRIP Metro North program, and it's working out well for her and her driver.

It was the first time Virginia had seen Ellie in nearly a year, because Ellie lives in a nursing home 10 miles away and Virginia doesn’t drive. Seven decades couldn’t separate these friends, but just 10 miles could. That is, until Buck, a Stoneham resident, stepped up to be Virginia’s TRIP driver and to help her get where she needs to go: the doctor, the market, and to see her oldest friend. Virginia and Buck were among the first participants in the new program from Mystic Valley Elder Services.  Together, the two of them keep track of her mileage, …

Comedy Event Raises $22,000 For Meals On Wheels

The Zonta Club of Malden and ABC Home Healthcare Professionals presented the "Bellyful of Laughs" comedy show to benefit Mystic Valley Elder Services' "Meals On Wheels" program.

Ticketholders weren’t about to miss the third annual Bellyful of Laughs comedy show. The January 21 sold-out show was presented by the Zonta Club of Malden and benefits the Meals on Wheels program of Mystic Valley Elder Services. For the second year in a row, ABC Home Healthcare Professionals, Inc., a Wakefield-based private home care agency, sponsored this important event. Each week day, the Meals on Wheels program of Mystic Valley Elder Services delivers 1,700 nutritious meals to 1,400 seniors and adults with disabilities. These home-delivered …

Thanks to organizations like ABC Home Healthcare and Mystic Valley Elder Services, my grandfather, who suffered a series of strokes back in 1989 was able to stay in his own home until his final days in 2011.
