Waitts Mountain Cleanup a Success
Ward 4 Councilor Jim Nestor & the Tufts University Mountain Club cleaned the park this weekend.
The following was submitted by Councillor Jim Nestor: Last Saturday Ward 4 Councilor Jim Nestor & the Tufts University Mountain Club conducted a fall cleanup of Waitts Mount. The Tufts Mountain Club sent 25 members to help clean the summit of the park. "I would like to thank the Tufts Mount Club for turning out to help clean Waitts Mount Park" said Councilor Nestor. "It was fantastic to hear their stories about climbing the main wall on the right hand side of the park as well as how much they love being able to climb at the park. They did a great job and are excited about the renovations to the park. There are quite a bit of plans to improve the square underway. There are discussions on moving/tearing down City Hall, two possible developments of empty lots, renovations to Pleasant Street(currently underway), facade improvements to certain buildings, and the possible relocation of a few businesses that will have an immediate impact to the area.
