Malden Gas Prices Continue To Tumble

New England drivers still paying well above the national average.

As the Christmas travel season approaches, drivers are on the receiving end of some good news relative to gas prices. According to AAA Southern New England, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas (self-serve) dropped another seven cents this past week, to $3.47. The good news is that price is 14 cents lower than a month ago. The bad news is, New England drivers are still paying roughly 13 cents higher than the national average and a full 20 cents higher than the price of gas in December 2011. According to the gas stations surveyed by AAA, prices ranged from $3.33 to $3.75 for unleaded regular self-serve. In Malden, some of the lowest prices can be found at Malden 66 ($3.48), Hess ($3.48) and John's Gas and Service ($3.50).

Where's the Cheapest Gas in Malden This Week?

John's and King's Petroleum come up on top.

AAA reports that gas prices remained relatively stable this week, both at the national and local levels. The average cost for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline dropped to $3.642 from last week's $3.660. Around Boston, that average is slightly higher, dropping a mere half-cent to $3.673. According to GasBuddy, as of Wednesday morning, King Petroleum at 854 Eastern Ave. and 320 Broadway had the lowest price of gas in the city at $3.47. Both locations take cash only. The next highest, $3.48, belongs to John's Oil & Gas Depot at 200 Beach St.

Where's the Cheapest Gas in Malden this Week?

King Petroleum and Hess come out on top.

The average price of gas rose slightly this week, with the national average for a gallon of regular rose to $3.657 from last week's $3.617. The trend stayed constant in the Boston area, with prices rising to $3.683 from $3.659. As of Wednesday afternoon, Gas Buddy identified King's Petroleum (at $3.47 a gallon) as the lowest priced gas in Malden, though the station only accepts cash. The Hess Station on Broadway and Eastern Ave. accepts credit cards and has the next lowest price, with $3.49.

Where's the Cheapest Gas in Malden This Week?

It's King Petroleum again, with a $3.47 regular gallon.

Hurricane Irene may have bumped up the national average to $3.629 – up from $3.582 a week ago – but in the Boston area, the average cost for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline went up only a cent to $3.67. As of 5 p.m. Thursday, King Petroleum again had the lowest price for gas in the city, at $3.47 a gallon. Do you know a cheaper tank of gas in Malden? Let us know in the comments.

Where's the Cheapest Gas in Malden This Week?

The amazing four-way tie is revealed!

The average price of gas continues to drop both nationwide and in the Boston area this week, with the average price for a gallon of regular dropping to $3.661 from last week's $3.699. That's about 9 cents higher than the national average, which is down to $3.575 from $3.584. Thursday morning, Gas Buddy identified a four-way tie for Malden's cheapest tank of gas: $3.47. You could find that price at Hess on 221 Broadway, Discount Gas on 388 Main St., King Petroleum at 320 Broadway and Snap Mart on 245 Main St.

Gasbuddy again finds King Petroleum with the lowest price.

The average price of gas continues to drop both nationwide and in the Boston area this week, with the average price for a gallon of regular dropping to $3.699 from $3.752. That's about 11 cents higher than the national average, down to $3.584 from $3.637. As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, Gas Buddy tagged Malden's cheapest gallon of gas at King Petroleum’s 320 Broadway location: $3.47. That location is cash only – the next highest accepting credit cards is John's Oil and Gas Depot, at 200 Beach and Wesley St., with a $3.49 gallon.

King Petroleum comes out on top again with their $3.59 price.

Good news: gas prices have remained essentially steady in the Boston area this week, with the average price for a gallon of regular dropping slightly from $3.798 to $3.797. That's about nine cents higher than the national average, which is $3.703. As of noon Wednesday, Gas Buddy again tagged Malden's cheapest gallon of gas at King Petroleum’s two locations (854 Eastern Avenue and 320 Broadway), each selling a gallon for $3.59.

Where's the Cheapest Gas in Malden this Week?

Gas prices are down again in Massachusetts as of June 13.

The good news continues for Massachusetts commuters, as gas prices dropped another nickel a gallon this week, according to AAA Southern New England. In the Boston area, the average is slightly higher, at $3.77 for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline.  As of 3:30 p.m. Monday, gasbuddy.com had the cheapest gallon of gas at King Petroleum’s two Malden locations, each selling a gallon for $3.57.
