Malden Man Chosen for International Training with American Red Cross

Find out where a Malden man is currently receiving his international training with the American Red Cross.

A Malden man was tabbed for international training with the American Red Cross and is currently in Sutomore, Montenegro, according to a Red Cross press statement.

Luis Matnog, a Maldonian who serves as the deputy chief of readiness and response emergency services for the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts, is participating in the Field Assessment and Coordination Team Induction Workshop, where he joins about 30 other delegates from Red Cross societies in Britain, Sweden, Geneva, Madagascar, Germany, Denmark, Jordan, Canada, Austria, Finland and Norway, among other countries, according to the statement.

He joins Wendy Brightman, a fellow international delegate who was chosen to co-represent the American Red Cross at the training, reads the statement.

Matnog, who returns on Sept. 20, has participated in multiple international trainings in the past and responded to several disaster-stricken countries, according to the statement.
