[Editor's note: The following post appeared on Malden Patch on Nov. 25 and is a reminder about when the Malden-Medford Thanksgiving football game will be played.]

The longstanding tradition of playing football on Thanksgiving Day continues for Malden and Medford High Schools this year.

The Thanksgiving Day tilt kicks off at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 at Henry Hormel Stadium in Medford. This year's game will be the 126th time Malden (4-6 overall; 2-1 league) and Medford (3-7 overall; 0-3 league) have played one another on Thanksgiving.

In the 125th game of the Thanksgiving Day rivalry, Malden beat Medford 32-6 at MacDonald Stadium in Malden. Check out the City of Malden's YouTube video from the 2012 Thanksgiving Day game above.

In 2004, Malden blanked Medford 36-0 in Medford. The Golden Tornadoes have reeled off six consecutive Thanksgiving Day victories against the Mustangs, who last won in 2006.

Malden has the all-time series edge, with an overall record of 61-54-10 against Medford.

Tickets can be bought for $5 on game day. Advance tickets can be bought at the schools for $3 and $5 for students and adults, respectively.
