Teens: think you'll need a job this summer?
National unemployment among 16-19 year olds has hovered in the 23-25 percent range for years - and those numbers only get worse when adjusted for certain demographics, like race and class.
In response to dwindling opportunities, the city radically expanded it's teen summer employment program last year, giving jobs to 335 Malden teenagers.
Applications for the 2013 summer program will be available online on the City of Malden website under “employment” beginning March 4, 2013.
This is the quickest way to submit your application. Computers are available for use at The Malden Teen Enrichment Center, Malden High School and the Malden Public Library.
As a last resort, paper copies will be available at the mayor's office in city hall's sixth floor.
Note the deadline for application submission is Friday, April 12 at 11:30 a.m.
