Malden Middle Schoolers Ace Robotics Competition

Malden middle school students were among the winners of the annual Massachusetts Regional Zero Robotic Summer SPHERES Competition this month, gaining hands-on experience in programming robots in space

The team of nine students - representing Linden School, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School and a homeschooled student from Medford - formulated strategies and tested simulations to solve problems with the devices.

The students join other top teams in seeing their programs applied to actual SPHERE satellites in microgravity at the international space station.

The members of the Malden YMCA Zero Robotics team are Kevin Batting, Ed Murray, Jay KC, Ethan Lam, Manan Bajaj, Ashley Kang, Jake Choy, Kayla Akombi, and Gabriello Adler-Abramo. The team mentors are Frank Molis, Harvick Tang and Lauren Barton.
