Coats for Kids Drive Starts at Salemwood School

Residents are invited to drop off their used coats at boxes in the school's lobby.

is kicking off it's fifth annual "Coats for Kids" drive this week, where families are encouraged to donate "slightly used" coats in both the elementary and middle school lobbies.

The school has already - which are cleaned by - in previous drives, which were distributed to area shelters and agencies.

The continued success of the program stems from it's focus on chidren, teacher  Kathleen Sullivan said. Kids grow out of their clothes quickly, meaning families often have an old jacket or coat taking up space in the back of the closet.
