A bed bug was found in a Malden High School classroom Thursday morning, according to an announcement from the school.

The classroom was closed and the city’s pest control vendor was called in to check the room for any infestation, according to the announcement, which was sent to the high school community Thursday.

“The more likely case is that the bug was transported to school in someone’s personal clothing or belongings,” the announcement reads.

A school nurse checked students and staff who were in the classroom at the time the bug was found.

This is a joke, right? ONE bed bug found in a high school classroom creates a furor and ends up in Malden Patch?? Why didn't somebody just step on it, swipe it up in a paper towel for the trash basket, and go back to work?? April Fools Day is still a few weeks away.

Cause there is never just one bedbug. The real issue that isn't mentioned in the article is that clearly there is a lot of sleeping going on in class, if the bedbugs are there.

Why are there're beds in the classroom?

People made huge mistake on developing bed bug methods which kill bed bugs (needing large amount work) and feed bed bugs (laying eggs fast). The best method does not kill bed bugs (saving large amount work) or feed bed bugs (solving problem immediately). Here are common senses: A bed bug lays up to 300 eggs. Chemical or steam can’t kill bugs behind wall or inside electronics. Heating room above 120 F fails if bugs migrate from other apartments or hide in electronics. Since more than 99% bed bug feeding is at night and they must crawl to top of bed before biting, it is easy to keep top of bed as bed bugs free by a cover with surrounded sticky barrier which traps bed bugs but never touches people. The bedding materials and sleeper are above the cover (trap), so that you don’t care how many bed bugs inside mattress or in anywhere. To ensure immediately solving problem, understand why someone can stop bites by sleeping in bathtub and then compare functions of bed sized trap and bathtub. To ensure killing 100% bed bugs, understand why CO2 traps kill 100% bed bugs if people don’t sleep in this room and then compare functions of dish-sized trap and bed-sized trap. It is easy for every bug to find sleeper and die on the way for food. It is difficult for people to search every bug without missing a single one which lays eggs fast. Google “bed sized bed bug trap” and celebrate having solved problem on the first day of setting up bed-sized trap due to no more bites and negligible daily effort.
