Workers Ready Teen Center for October

Mayor Gary Christenson said teens should enjoy use of the center by next month.

Contractors are chipping away at paint and preparing other renovations to bring the city's new teen enrichment center to life next month, thanks to the work of volunteers and political support from the mayor's office. 

The 5,500 square foot center, located across from Malden High School at 1 Salem St., will provide structured activities, homework help and other activities to keep kids busy after school.

While the city will pay for rent and staffing costs, money for activities will be raised by a 501(c)3 non-profit organization affiliated with the center.
