Who is Voting in Malden's Preliminary Election on Tuesday?

The preliminary election is slated for Tuesday, Sept. 17, according to information provided by Carol Ann Desiderio, assistant registrar of voters for the city. Come election day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

The preliminary election helps to narrow the field for each race to two candidates. 

Maldonians living in Wards 1, 3 and 8 will be voting on Tuesday. Here are the polling places for each ward in Malden:

Ward 1, Precinct 1 and 2

Ferryway School

Ward 3, Precinct 1

Beebe School, K-4 Gymnasium

Ward 3, Precinct 2

Beebe School, Music Room

Ward 8, Precinct 1 and 2

Linden School

And the candidates are...

Three candidates are seeking a two-year seat as a Ward 1 School Committee member, including:
  • Pietro Cicolini
  • Daniel Lee Grover III
  • Christina Villafranca
Four candidates are vying for a two-year seat as a Ward 3 School Committee member, including:
  • James Holland
  • Megan Lawler
  • Cindy Porter
  • Lawrence Silverman
Four candidates are seeking a two-year seat as a Ward 8 City Councillor, including:
  • George Laskey
  • Brian O'Boyle
  • Jadeane Sica
  • Rachel Wisch
