The preliminary election is set for Tuesday, Sept. 17, according to information provided by Carol Ann Desiderio, assistant registrar of voters for the city.

The preliminary election helps to narrow the field for each race to two candidates. 

On election day polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Who's Running?

Four candidates are vying for a two-year seat as a Ward 8 City Councillor, including:
  • George Laskey
  • Brian O'Boyle
  • Jadeane Sica
  • Rachel Wisch
Four candidates are seeking a two-year seat as a Ward 3 School Committee member, including:
  • James Holland
  • Megan Lawler
  • Cindy Porter
  • Lawrence Silverman
Three candidates are vying for a two-year seat as a Ward 1 School Committee member, including:
  • Pietro Cicolini
  • Daniel Lee Grover III
  • Christina Villafranca
