During the snowstorm, a driver lost control of their vehicle, went off the road and smashed through a window of a Malden store on Ferry Street late Tuesday night, according to police.

Around 10 p.m. Jan. 21, police and fire responded to 490 Ferry St. for a report of a single-vehicle crash into a building, according to Det. Lt. Marc Gatcomb.

"...The vehicle was traveling south on Belmont Street and through the snow and ice, unable to stop, skidded down Belmont Street, down the hill, onto Ferry Street and into the Ferry Convenience Dollar Store," Gatcomb said. "With the front window being destroyed, the store owner was contacted to board up the store."

A 33-year-old Wakefield man was the driver of the 2010 Ford Edge that crashed into the storefront, according to Gatcomb. The vehicle, which had no passengers inside of it at the time of the crash, was towed from the scene, he added.

No one was injured in the crash, according to Gatcomb.

The scene was cleared just under 40 minutes, according to police.
