T Riders Save Injured Malden Man on Tracks

A couple of good samaritans helped an unnamed Malden man from the tracks at North Station Wednesday night.

After celebrating passing his medical exams by having a few drinks, a Malden man fell off a platform at North Station onto the tracks below Wednesday night, according to a Boston Herald report.

“The 33-year old Malden resident stated he did not remember being in the pit,” the Transit officer’s report stated, as the victim of the fall sat with an MBTA official, covered in dirt and confused, reported the Herald. “The man stated he had two drinks to celebrate passing the medical boards and was waiting for the train home, but does not remember anything else.”

Transit Police said the doctor was transported by Boston EMS ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital after suffering a minor head injury, according to the Herald.

The doctor was reportedly seen laying on the tracks motionless and unresponsive despite MBTA riders' best attempts to get the Maldonian's attention. At around 9 p.m., Orange Line passengers jumped down to the tracks to save the man from the train travel trench, while another passenger informed a MBTA employee about the incident, T officials told the Herald.
