Original article: A Boston collectibles dealer is offering a $5,000+ reward for any information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of a skateboard store owner on Main St. last week.

Sly Egidio, owner of Beantown Collectibles, said he never met victim Shawn Clark, but was moved by the story of a fellow Marine with a small business and young family.

He told Malden Patch this is the first time he's ever made this kind of a pledge.

“I just mentioned the idea on Friday to some of my employees...it was me ranting to somebody, and they threw it on Facebook,” he said. “Then it ballooned.”

His phone has been since “ringing off the hook” with pledges from all over the country, some offering gifts in the range of thousands of dollars.

Egidio said he'd have a clearer picture of the actual amount once the account is finalized at a Malden bank Monday afternoon.

“One thing about Marines, we all know each other and stick together,” he said. “I've been telling everybody: 'this guy screwed with the wrong Marine.'”
