Is the Mayor aware that these fires are so bad because the station is closed?

lets see house is empty but somehow goes on fire at 2 am in morning. Very suspicious. Pretty sure this fire being bad had zero to do with the proximity of the fire station. Just a guess on this one.

The nearest fire engine being in Malden Sq. certainly didn't help matters whether the fire was accidental or set..eh Michael???

The Mayor does not care about us folks in Maplewood, if he did, he wouldve secured some land and started to build us a fire station.

i live on Rudolf st the house that burned down is directly behind me the mayor has got to do something about the parking up here on Williams street i have alway's said that if the fire dept has to get up here the time they spend just trying to get around the cars could cost people there lives.

I really people would get the facts before they complain and make accusations. I’ve read, right here on Patch, and in many other places that the Mayor of Malden does care about the fact that we have no Maplewood firehouse. But, he cannot just go buy land and start building as Mary suggests. The Mayor has stated numerous times that building a new firehouse is a Capital Expenditure. In the City of Malden Capital Expenditure projects are discussed in the Fall. And a new Maplewood firehouse is on his list. We can only hope the City Council agrees with him. For full disclosure I don’t know the Mayor or his staff. I’m simply a Ward 6 resident who lives a couple of blocks from the closed firehouse. I worry about this neighborhood every time I hear the word fire.

Mr Howard, Maplewood has been waiting over 60 years for a new fire station. Mr Mayor had the "teen" center signed sealed and delivered in record time. The fifth fire station building commitee has had how many meetings? Rumor has it, its been disolved, again. The Mayor can and will do whatever he wants when he's good and ready to do it. If he has a personal problem with the fire union than they both need to get over it and build us a new replacement fire station, NOW! The ball is in the Mayors court, lets see what he does with it! Until then man the buckets. Good day!
