Police arrested a 25-year-old Everett man Thursday afternoon in connection with the robbery at U.S. Alliance Federal Credit Union in Malden that morning.
Jobe Dimanche was arrested in a home on Hawthorn Street in Everett and charged with unarmed robbery, failure to stop for a police officer and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Dimanche, wearing a long wig, gray dress and denim jacket, entered the bank at 1032 Eastern Ave. shortly after 10 a.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding money, according to Malden Police Det. Lt. Marc Gatcomb. He then fled in a motor vehicle, Gatcomb said.
Malden Police Officer David Connelly spotted Dimanche’s vehicle. Then, after attempting to elude Connelly, Dimanche exited the vehicle and fled on foot to Everett, Gatcomb said.
Malden, Everett and State police, as well as the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force, took part in the search for Dimanche.
There were no injuries, according to Gatcomb.
