Police Conduct More Police Sweeps

Mayor Christenson says residents should expect more sweeps aimed at 'sending a message' to criminal elements in the city.

About 15-20 police motorcycles moved throughout the city both Friday and Saturday evenings, in a series of several planned 'police sweeps' aimed at curbing crime in the city.

Saturday night's presence was the fourth night the city has utilized the regional program, at no cost to the city.

Mayor Gary Christenson said he had not heard of any arrests related to the sweeps, though a police spokesperson was not immediately available for confirmation.
