Two Arrested After Multiple Car Burglaries

Malden Police said they caught two men near Salem Street and Fairfield Avenue, allegedly with stolen property and burglarious instruments.

Two men allegedly "responsible for numerous vehicle break-ins" were arrested after police received a quick tip from a concerned resident Wednesday morning. 

Michael Catino, 29, of Revere and Mark Anthony Gigliello, 19, of Malden, were each arrested on three alleged charges of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, destruction of property over $250, possession of burglarious tools and conspiracy.

Officers encountered the suspects after a caller reported two men fleeing from a motor vehicle buglarly near Salem Street and Fairfield Avenue, Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb said.

Both Catino and Gigliello matched the description offered by the witness, according to a police report. 

"These individuals, we believe, are responsible for numerous vehicle break-ins, and even victimized an eighty-six year old person's car," Gatcomb wrote in an email.

He said police are continuining to identify the alleged owners of recovered property from the arrest.
