More Details on Drug Arrest Emerge

An 'intense investigation' led to the arrest of another alleged drug dealer in the city Wednesday.

Police are crediting an "intense investigation" for the arrest of another alleged drug dealer in the city this week. 

Michael Righini, 31, of Methuen, was arrested during a "buy/bust" operation around 1 p.m. Wednesday, for alleged class A drug distribution, a drug violation near a school and class A possession to distribute. 

Police also obtained a search warrant for 49 Holyoke St. after Righini's arrest, where "a quantity of drugs" were discovered. 

Righini was arraigned at Malden District Court on the drug charges Thursday. 

"Detective Powell initiated an intense investigation which resulted in him coordinating a strategic plan of the arrest and service of the search warrant in the safest manner possible for both officers and the public," Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb wrote in an e-mail to Malden Patch.
