A 23-year-old Medford man and his companion allegedly attacked a random stranger at the Malden Center Station Tuesday night.

Gary Biddiscombe and his companion were allegedly yelling obscenities and provoking fights with other passengers on an Orange Line train. When the train arrived in Malden Center at about 9:30 p.m., Biddiscombe’s companion sucker punched a male passenger and then Biddiscombe kicked the man in the head, according to MBTA Transit Police.

Biddiscombe was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot). MBTA Transit Police expected to file assault charges against Biddiscombe’s companion as well.

Ride the Meat Train just for a small fee you can get your head kicked in. I feel bad for the victim I know what he went through. The MBTA should pay Malden Police to cover the station. It was like that in the old days when I grew up. Boston Cops would cover all the stations when help was needed. The MBTA Police was started in 1968 and never exsisted before that. Each station had a starter and a doorman at each station. There was allways someone at the station as well as two in the train.
