The attack took place near Elmwood Pharmacy near the Malden Center T Stop, and was not a random act, Gatcomb said.

Lacey allegedly pulled up to the victim in his car as he was walking his dog. An argument ensued, during which Lacey allegedly withdrew a handgun. As the victim ran, he said Lacey fired a single shot.
