A drunk Billerica man drove a dump truck into a Malden home, at the corner of Pleasant and West streets, Thursday night, according to police.

Keith Douglas Bouthillette, 51, of 15 Jef Road, was arrested after the 8:30 p.m. crash and charged with operating under the influence, second offense, police said.

Bouthillette was transported to a local hospital after being extricated from the truck. A resident was also taken to a hospital for evaluation. Neither injury was life threatening, police said.

The truck was still embedded in the yellow home Friday morning, as emergency personnel were waiting for the proper crews to assist with its removal.

The truck hit the home’s front porch, and the home’s upper porch collapsed on top of the truck.

A number of beer cans were found in the vehicle, police said.

Lately we have been seeing so many vehicles into houses. Something in my younger years that was rare.

About 10 years ago, I got into a head-on collision with a drunk driver in Billerica. He also had a stash of empty beer cans and liquor bottles in his back seat. Must be something in the air up there in Billericaville.

Maybe he bought the beer in Malden?

He was drinking at the bar at an establishment in Malden about five hours before that.
