A Malden woman was charged with drunk driving and child endangerment following her arrest on Tuesday, according to police.

At about 7 p.m., police responded to a strip mall at 60 Broadway for a report of a possibly intoxicated woman with a child in the car, according to Det. Lt. Marc Gatcomb.

"Upon arrival officers located the vehicle matching the description and conducted an investigation," Gatcomb said in an email to Malden Patch. Gatcomb added that there wasn't an accident, and the 13-year-old child in the vehicle was uninjured.

The car was not towed from the scene, and the child was turned over to a relative, according to Gatcomb. Police notified the Department of Children and Families about the incident.

Doris Riordan, 50, of Fairview Avenue, Malden, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor and child endangerment.

Riordan was arraigned at Malden District Court, according to police. The results of the arraignment were not immediately available.
