Malden Man Faces 5 Attempted Murder Charges After Family Arson Attempt

Juliet Edward Gustave, 38, of Malden, allegedly doused his family's home in gasoline as a female witness called 911. He was later arrested wearing gasoline-soaked clothes.

A man who allegedly tried to set his Malden home on fire with family inside was later arrested on 5 separate charges of attempted murder, police confirmed Monday.

Juliet Edward Gustave, 38, of 7 Fremont St. in Malden, allegedly began dousing his family's home in gasoline around 8:45 p.m. Saturday night as a woman inside the home called 911.

Gustave reportedly fled from the scene, but was later arrested by police in gasoline-soaked clothes, according to scanner reports.

In addition to the attempted murder charges, Gustave was also arrested on a charge of attempted arson of a dwelling/house and vandalizing with a noxious/filthy substance.

No information about the victims were immediately available Monday night, though information listed on Gustave's Facebook account suggest small children were living in the home.

No victims or officers were injured in the incident, Mayor Gary Christenson said.

I don't need to say what the punishment should be if this person is convicted. Let's hope our gov Duval doesn't decide to feel bad for him and set him free.

WoW this isn't right. 5 attempted murder charges and only $2500 cash bail? There should be no bail. This guy will walk you'll see. I cannot believe the low bail.
