Fire Extinguished on MBTA Bus Thursday Morning in Malden

An MBTA bus was taken out of service Thursday morning following a small fire, officials told the Boston Globe.

An MBTA bus was taken out of service Thursday morning following a small fire, officials told the Boston Globe.

At 8:39 a.m., a fire started in the engine compartment of the Route 101 bus in the area of Pleasant and Pearl streets, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo told the newspaper.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was quickly put out, Pesaturo told the Globe.
