Broadway Drug Bust Nets More Than 100 Grams of Cocaine, 2 Arrests

The bust occurred at about 1 p.m. Thursday.

Members of the Malden Police Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a 500 Broadway apartment at about 1 p.m. Thursday.

The bust netted more than 100 grams of cocaine, powdered and crack cocaine, and $6,000 in cash, according to police. It also led to the arrests of 29-year-old Edwin Andre Saintiche and Wendy Michelle Newhall, 39, both of 500 Broadway, police said.

Saintiche is facing the following charges: trafficking cocaine over 100 grams, conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act, possession with intent to distribute Class A heroin, possession with intent to distribute Class B suboxone, possession with intent to distribute Class B Percocet and possession with intent to distribute Class C trazodone, alprazolam and naproxen.

Newhall was charged with, trafficking cocaine over 100 grams, conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act and possession with intent to distribute Class B Percocet.

The bust was the result of a multi-week investigation, police said.
