Multiple sources report a man was arrested after police say he murdered his wife in their Francis St. home.

4th Update: Channel 5 is reporting further evidence of confessional statements allegedly made by Moseley, and notes that, while Moseley referred to Yakubu as his wife, they have yet to officially confirm their marital status.

3rd Update: CBS News is reporting Cecila Yakubu, 57, was the name of the victim.

They add that Moseley was once charged with punching Yakubu in the face during an argument earlier this year, though those charges were dropped.

He was also convicted of shooting his ex-wife in the face in 1996.

2nd Update: Numerous news organizations on social media are reporting that Moseley has been held without bail, and allegedly told a 911 dispatcher "I killed my wife. She's dead. I strangled her."

A cord was reportedly found around the victim's neck.

The judge reportedly cited Moseley's violent record for denying him bail. CBS News reports Moseley has served time for armed assault with a gun, mayhem, and assault and battery.

Update: We have received this statement from District Attorney Gerry Leone's office: "At approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning, Malden Police received a 911 call reporting a death at 33 Francis Street in Malden. When officers responded, police located the female victim, obviously deceased. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

William Bryant Moseley, 45, was at the scene and was subsequently arrested for allegedly strangling the victim to death.

The defendant will be arraigned later this morning in Malden District Court."

Original story: A Malden man is accused of murdering his wife inside of their Francis St. home early Friday morning, according to multiple news sources.

According to the Boston Globe and Fox 25, William Bryant Moseley, 45, is expected to be arraigned on murder charges later today.

No further information was immediately available.

Man. :(

Not sure why they say they are holding her name pending notification. Cecilia Yakubu, 57 is her name and WCVB reported it. They also say his previous record shows assault and battery, not murder/homicide.

Lori that information was just made available a moment ago and I have updated the article accordingly. It was previously unreleased.

His ex lived from the shot in the face. I hear he was arrested recently for domestic violence on this victim months ago. But it was later dropped. Not sure if she dropped it or the court did. Either way this is a sick story. I pray for her and her family.
Phe August 10, 2012 at 05:50 PM
According to Wicked Local, she asked that the charged be dropped.

Awful story...really hope there aren't any kids. And for the record....The Patch isn't in the "gutter." It's a great news outlet and keeps us updated on what's going on in our city. It's Friday people...take it easy.
Phe August 10, 2012 at 05:50 PM
You clearly have nothing better to do with your time and no actual knowledge about how news works in this scary, mod'run age...do you?
Michael G August 10, 2012 at 05:51 PM
I read about many abused women doing that. It is sad.
FJW August 10, 2012 at 06:32 PM
Wow, you sound like a real journalist whiz, Frank! Maybe you can provide the details with your awesome capabilities!? Otherwise, just hit the back button and take your leave if the Patch doesn’t measure up to your standards. It’s that simple. Don’t have to be a gigantic tool about it. Just sayin’
Michael G August 10, 2012 at 06:35 PM
Officer was just called to the house. I think they are going to remove some items or the body. I really hope this scum bag rots in his cell.
George Lyons August 10, 2012 at 07:07 PM
Good job, Chris - screw the naysayers. We're getting this news faster than we used to. God bless the victim, Ms. Yakubu.
mmp August 10, 2012 at 07:09 PM
family friend completely devistated, was only girlfriend, and no one knew of previous abbuse or what he had done to ex-wife. and she does have kids thankfully not with him, as well as grandkids. Not a quiet person always spoke her mind but kind and always helpful to others. i dont even hope he's locked away for life it would be a waste of our dollars. they should have never let him out after what happened with the exwife. so who's really at fault?
Chris Caesar August 10, 2012 at 07:31 PM
mmp, can you send me an email at Malden@Patch.com or give me a call at 781-606-4139?
Michael G August 10, 2012 at 07:34 PM
I think a domestic violence speaker should be added to to Mayors safety meetings. Last year we posted in our Facebook a link to janedoe.com Months ago we got a message from a young woman thanking us. Telling us our posting opened her eyes and she got help. It was a combination of the post and her strength to get away. A very brave woman. I ask the City to put hotlines for services like this on the website in different languages. It can help save a life.
Mark August 10, 2012 at 10:17 PM
LIke rabid dogs, miscreants like this need to be put down. Not housed and fed on our dime. Who's bright idea was it to let this rabid dog loose on society? Liberals once again placing innocent citizens in harms way.
david mokal August 11, 2012 at 12:54 AM
Whatever Girlfriend or Wife someone is murdered. Another Malden scumbag. Bring back capitol punishment. Burn the bstrd.
david mokal August 11, 2012 at 12:55 AM
Great Job Chris screw these nit pickers.
Meggle August 11, 2012 at 04:09 AM
Social media is becoming a part of our lives. You'll just have to deal with it.
Frank August 11, 2012 at 02:21 PM
The rumor commet was referencing a deleted comment by Michael G. He was blogging about a rumors of prior domestic abuse. And if you were reporting from other news outlets then you should be recognizing the true source (i.e. "fox news reports, abc news reports etc.") I truly believe you are now engaging in a cover up. You even changed your story in the 2nd update. If previously said, "social media sources" and now says "news organizations". Caesar, if your so confident then why did you go back into the story and change the 2nd update??? SOmething stinks at the PATCH!
Michael G August 11, 2012 at 04:04 PM
Frank: Rumors at times turn into news. That was the case this time. What I heard from neighbors was the truth. I took it down because CBS reported it a bit before I did and I did not see it. But I cannot believe you are complaining about reports when this woman was murdered by a monster. I have not even posted on anything else because we as a community lost an innocent woman for no reason. We all might not know her but this effects our community as a whole. We should mourn together and not fight over dumb stuff right now.
Chris Caesar August 11, 2012 at 06:48 PM
lol, because I realized the confusion. The link to the actual source where I got the information has remained unchanged. If you did smell a stink, it's probably in our comment section, Frank.
Diana August 11, 2012 at 07:07 PM
I love the smell of dementia in the morning.
david mokal August 12, 2012 at 12:38 AM
How the hell did this jerk get out from all his other crimes. He has some serious charges he spent time for. Now he is out to kill. Trouble is this state is too much goody goody bullcrap and refuses Capitol punishment. Bring back execusions get rid of these Evil People.
James August 12, 2012 at 06:50 PM
He is out because the liberals you vote into office are the ones who appoint judges. You think it's bad now wait til the judges Obama put on the Supreme Court have their way. They can do more damage than Obama ever thought to do.
Diana August 12, 2012 at 09:52 PM
Does Capitol punishment execusions mean that we excuse the Evil People and send them to Washington DC? Because I feel like we've tried that and it doesn't work.
Michael B Elvale August 12, 2012 at 11:53 PM
Extremely violent stabbing last night on Salem st, any news on this Chris or is it just common place now??
Diana August 13, 2012 at 12:20 AM
Chris is only one person. Perhaps he's having a Sunday?
Michael G August 13, 2012 at 02:57 AM
The Police will only put out one negative story a week. He posted it on Facebook to help get eyewitness stories. I giuess a first responder broke the story early this morning. Only one spokesman for the PD means it takes a lot of time to get a story out.
Michael B Elvale August 13, 2012 at 03:00 AM
Well Diane, apparently your not, so, chop chop and report back here.
Marie Gendron August 13, 2012 at 05:13 AM
I agree with mmp; they should have never let him out after his attack on his ex wife. Also, I read that he assaulted a correctional officer when he was in prison. When will people see that some people can never be rehabilitated? Throw away the key.
