Obituary: Robert Boyd, Longtime Malden Resident

Robert G. Boyd, of Malden, died Thursday, Feb. 20.

Devoted husband of Anne L. (Carr). Beloved father of Robert G. Boyd Jr. and his wife Kathy of New Hampshire, Richard Boyd and his wife Terry of New Hampshire, Stephen Boyd and his wife Sandy of Woburn, Annmarie Estrella and her husband Jimmy of New Bedford, Eugene Boyd of Everett, Mark Boyd and his wife Lorie of Melrose and Christopher Boyd of Peabody. Dear brother of the late Carolyn Manning. Cherished grandfather of Barbara, Robert III, Melissa, Richard, Catherine, Jennifer, Jessica, Jenna, Kayla, Kendra and the late Michael.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem St., Maplewood Square, MALDEN, on Monday, Feb. 24, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St., Malden, at 9. Visiting hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Committal Services are private. Expressions of sympathy in in Robert's name may be made to the charity of your choice.

Late U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Born in Melrose and a longtime Malden resident, Robert, at 83 years of age passed away at home after a long illness. A member of the Irish American and East Side AA, Bob worked for 36 years for the various telephone companies, retiring from Verizon in 1992 as a conduit inspector.
