Obituary: Albert Russo, Lifelong Malden Resident

Russo died Saturday, April 12.

Albert V. Russo, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Epoch Nursing Care Center in Melrose.

Albert was born and raised in Malden, one of 19 children of Frederick and Antonetta (Simione) Russo. While growing up in Malden, he was a member of the very first little league championship team in Malden. After completing his education, he worked for a short time at Converse Rubber before join the Teamsters Local 25 and becoming a truck driver. Albert enjoyed his career as a truck driver until a disability forced his early retirement at the age of 52. He also had been an avid golfer until his health forced him to stop. He also had enjoyed collecting coins.

He is survived by his children, of Michael V. Russo and wife Paulina of Medford, Debora A. Angelo and husband Sigismondo of Billerica, Robert L. Russo of Florida and Gina M. Russo of Melrose; his siblings, Josephine Tieri of New Hampshire, Adeline Rasmussen of Saugus, Frank Russo of Florida and Amatto “John” Russo of New Hampshire; his grandchildren,  Deidre, Lindsey, Brittany, Dylan, Matthew and Amanda; and his great grandchildren, Lilliana, Jayden, Christopher and Jaxson.

A funeral mass for Albert will be held on Tuesday, April 22, at 9 a.m. at St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem St., Malden. Interment will follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
