Edward Larson, Lifelong Malden Resident, Dies at 55

Larson died Thursday, April 17.

Edward J. “Ed” Larson passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 17, 2014. He was 55.

Ed was a lifelong resident of Malden. He graduated from Malden High School, Class of 1977, and formerly owned and operated Edgeworth News Agency. Ed was a member of numerous clubs in Malden and a former Hall of Famer and treasurer of Intercity Baseball League. He was on the board of directors at the Ocean House Condominium in York Beach, Maine, where he loved spending quality time with his best friends Ginger and Daisey.

Ed was the loving husband of Ann (Zipperi) Larson. He was the beloved father of Gregory and Steven Larson of Malden. Ed was the brother of Kevin M. Larson and his wife Patricia of Malden. He was the dear friend of Donna Sacco and cherished uncle of Thomas and Brian McSweeney, Brendan Riley, and Brian and Christopher Larson.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main St., Malden, on Wednesday, April 23, at 9 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem St., Malden, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, April 22, from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be private.
