Sheriff Koutoujian greets parents, cadets on first day of YPSA

Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian was in Malden this morning to greet parents and wish youngsters well as they boarded a bus headed for the first day of the week-long Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA) run by the Sheriff’s Office.  This is the 14th year of the free Academy for children ages 9-11.  The program is held at the Sheriff’s training facility in Billerica and culminates with a graduation ceremony Friday.

Children from Everett, Natick, Woburn and Wakefield are also attending the Academy this week.  An estimated 1700 youngsters from 29 Middlesex County communities will participate in the Academy over an eight-week period this summer.
