Volleyball Wins Round One Game

Volleyball Wins Round One

The Mystic Valley girls volleyball team won their MIAA Division 3 North first round volleyball game by beating North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-23) on Saturday.  The win was the first tournament win in volleyball in school history. The win is a strong statement of exactly how far the program has come as only two years ago the team had a winless season.

The Eagles were led on Saturday by Jessica Phinney who collected 26 assists, Shannon Roseen who had 15 kills and Jordan Sullivan who had 5 digs in the win.

After the game coach Marc Arria said that “the girls came out really focused and determined.  They are playing really well at the right time”.

The girls will return to action Monday night with a game against the tournament’s number one seed Notre Dame Academy at 7:00 in Tyngsboro.
