Mystic Valley Volleyball Tops Austin Prep

In a game that had the feel of a tournament game, the Mystic Valley volleyball team finished the regular season with a 3-0 win (25-22, 25-20 and 25-13) over Austin Prep.  There was a big crowd on hand for the contest which was also Senior Day for the girls. The seniors honored were Joanna Petras, Jordan Sullivan, Hernica Jean-Charles, and Dominique Charles.

The crowd was treated to one of the most exciting games of the year.  The first game was especially close as the teams went back and forth throughout. After winning the first game the Eagles were able to capitalize on their momentum and win the match.

Jessica Phinney had 16 assists and Joanna Petras had 5 blocks to lead the Eagles.  “The team came out with tremendous energy, and that sometimes can make all the difference.  It was a good way to finish going into the tournament.  I am proud of the way the girls played.  They have worked hard and come a long way” said coach Marc Arria after the game.
