The boys’ team had a great meet. Most of the team members put up new personal bests in their events. Highlights of the meet included Zach Kelso’s running a sub 5 minute mile and Ricky Yu’s 52 second 400. Both the 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay put up their best times of the season and qualified for state tournament.

The girls all had spectacular meets. Brittany Lin and Vanessa Lochirco both improved their 2 mile times by about 30 seconds! Kayla Mei qualified for the state tournament and won both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Fallon Bushee ran a sub 6 minute mile. Kathryn McPherson won an exciting come-from-behind victory in the 400m hurdles (and also qualified for state tournament). Ariana Mirzakashani dominated the 400m dash and took second in the discus. Soraya Caballero won the 800 handily and just missed qualifying for states as a sophomore. Finally, the girl’s 4x400 won by over 10 seconds!  Despite all the excellent performances, however, the girl’s fell into second place by a mere 1 and 2/3 points.
