Mystic Valley PTO Presents Scholarship Awards

PTO Scholarships

The Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, Parent-Teacher Organization recently presented to two graduating seniors - Fallon Bushee and Kristina Kontos - with  scholarships in recognition of their distinction and excellence in volunteerism and community service.

The purpose of these awards is to recognize and reward achievements in volunteerism and community service among the students of Mystic Valley Regional Charter School “Mystic Valley”. The goals of the Scholarship are to:

  • Foster volunteerism within the community, and
  • Promote the appreciation of both the rights and responsibilities of citizenship within the community.

Perhaps the greatest benefit to volunteering is the sense of accomplishment, pride and satisfaction that the student feels from helping others in need within their community. Those personal benefits are reason enough for students to serve as volunteers; however the other obvious benefit is to the community in which the student has given his or her time and talents to help make a difference. The ideals of volunteerism and service to the school community are at the foundation of the PTO’s mission.

It is a natural extension of the PTO’s core mission to offer this scholarship as a way to celebrate the achievements of volunteerism and community service by students of Mystic Valley.
