Mystic Valley Spanish Students Score Well on National Exams
Congratulations go out to several world language students from the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2012 National Spanish Examinations.
The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 9 through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. Every student at Mystic Valley takes the exam.
Mystic Valley students earned a total of 3 gold, 8 silver, and 3 bronze medals along with 29 honorable mentions. “Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with 143,641 students participating in 2012.”

Students from Mystic Valley have a long history of high achievement on these exams and were taught by Spanish teachers Sra. Forbes, Sra. Zamorano, Sra. Hawes and Sr. Brown. Congratulations to all of the students for achieving so well on the exam!
