The Eagles came out very tough against the strong Greater Lawrence team and won 3-1 earlier this week. The first goal came off great passing and a very accurate shot from Giuseppe Iacovone. The second goal came early in the second half from a strong shot that the goalie could not handle from Scott Nguyen. Greater Lawrence capitalized on a mistake later in the second half and brought it within 1 goal, but Dino Bulic made a very strong individual effort and put in the last goal to give the Eagles a little breathing room with 10 minutes left in the game.

The boys soccer team is now 4-4-2 overall. They lead the CAC Small with a two 2-0-2 record but they have a long way to go with nine very tough games ahead. Coach Carlos-Luis Brown commented after the game that: “the boys are playing very hard and working well together. They are working very well as a team and a lot of the younger players are starting to make big improvements and contributing to the team both during practices and games. If they continue to fight hard and work hard they could have a very successful second year as a varsity program. “

The Eagles face Whittier again today. They won the first game 1-0 but it was a very hard-fought game and they expect the same again, if not tougher.

Mystic Valley Girls Win 4-0

For the tenth time in 11 games the Mystic Valley girls’ soccer team held their opposition scoreless. Wednesday’s opponent was Greater Lawrence and the final score was 4-0 Mystic Valley.

The Eagles were led on offense by Meghan Foley who scored two goals. Jackie Lane recorded her tenth shutout of the season.
