Mystic Valley Boys' Varsity Basketball Wins Fourth Straight Game

The team continues to rack up victories.

The Mystic Valley boys’ varsity basketball team is riding a four game winning streak, thanks to a 71-56 road victory against Northeast Metro Tech of Wakefield on Friday, January 6.

With the triumph, the Eagles improved their overall record to 6-1, 4-0 in Commonwealth Athletic Conference (CAC) play.

Mystic Valley withstood a hot shooting Northeast team to secure the victory.  The Eagles lead 34-30 at halftime, and the game was a seesaw battle throughout most of the second half.  Pressure defense and offensive execution were the key ingredients for Mystic Valley to keep its winning streak alive.

“Northeast shot an extremely high percentage for most of the game, but we hung in there from beginning to end,” said Eagles’ head coach Tony Ferullo.  “We made big plays when we had to at both ends of the court and that’s a positive sign.  Our team is playing with a lot of confidence right now.”

Mystic Valley was led in scoring by senior guard Greg Statho (21 points and five assists) and senior forward Ben Bottrell (18 points and 15 rebounds).
