Mystic Valley Girls Beat Notre Dame 1-0

The Mystic Valley girls’ soccer team beat Notre Dame yesterday 1-0. Notre Dame was considered to be a very good team but the girls put forth their “best effort of the season” according to Coach Michael White.   The defense led by Kathryn McPherson did a great job.   Amanda Kerner had a fantastic game shutting down one of the best players in the league.   Feliciana Panza had solid game at stopper.  Emily Luu did a great job coming off the bench at right fullback.

The Eagles scored their goal in the first half on a great set up from Krystiana Dimaro to Katarina DiPlacido.   Jackie Lane also made nine saves in the effort and recorded her 14th shutout of the season.   The Eagles currently are 12-0-3 on the season and have a chance to win the league out right on Thursday with a win or a tie.
