What should Ward Three expect from Lawhorne?
If Mark Lawhorne is elected the voters of Ward three can expect:
- Better community communication
- Responsive constituent services
- Greater advocacy for funding for ward projects
- Committed solutions for the Malden Hospital site
- Stronger support for our core services: police, fire, schools and DPW departments.
I will ensure that you, as a neighbor, have a say in what happens at the Malden Hospital site. Ward Three residents need to form a ward committee that defines what we hope for as a community and enter into a stronger dialogue with Hallmark Health. I will help facilitate that discussion. I will lead our way to a better community partnership that benefits Malden.

I want to see our families enjoy a more robust Fourth of July celebration and bring back traditions like the Roy Burns Fishing Derby. We need to strengthen the sense of community by being active participants- I will ask residents to join me at “Ward Three Pride Days” and help keep our parks clean. I will be a councilor that celebrates our city’s diversity all the while honoring the legacy-families that worked hard to make our community such an attractive place to live.
A potential dog park is a wonderful idea that should be pursued, however the majority of residents I have spoken with feel strongly that it not be sited within Fellsmere Park. While options are limited, we can be creative and find a suitable location. I believe we should stay true to the historic nature of Olmstead’s vision and maintain Fellsmere Park's integrity.

I will strongly advocate for a community garden in Ward Three. A community garden is a valuable resource that fosters community development, stimulates social interaction, provides educational opportunities and encourages self-reliance. We need to think creatively and opt to participate in such initiatives.
This should be our vision for Ward Three.
