Soccer this Spring: time to register!

Kids ages 4-19: register for Spring soccer. Malden Youth Soccer tries to place every child, but teams have been filling up. The sooner you register, the more likely your child will be able to play.

Soon it will be [real] Spring and the joyful noise of kids playing soccer will fill Malden's fields. Registration is drawing to a close, so register your daughter or son now so s/he can join in the fun!

Spring Intown Soccer 2013
    For younger kids

Malden Youth Soccer runs co-ed intown leagues for children under 6 (U6) and under 9 (U9). On Saturdays, U6 teams practice and play at Amerige Park. On Sundays, U9 teams practice and scrimmage at Callahan Park. Both age groups learn ball handling skills, like dribbling, passing and shooting. The younger players typically move in clumps, but by U9 they're learning the rules of the game and starting to pass to one another.

Uniforms are provided to all players, including socks, shorts and shirt. All you need to have are shin guards, appropriate shoes (cleats optional), and a size 3 ball. We encourage parents to become coaches. Please let us know if you're interested.

The Spring 2012 U6/U9 Intown season begins on April 14 and ends on June 10. The registration fee is $85 if you register before March 15. After March 15, it costs $100, and there is a good chance that there will not be room on a team for your son or daughter. Unfortunately, this winter we had to turn players away because we based the number of teams on how many had registered on time.

Spring Soccer 2013
    Travel Teams: for older kids

As part of the Middlesex Youth Soccer League, MYS runs travel leagues. In the Spring, there are girls teams and boys teams for ages 8 - 19 (U10 - U19). Travel teams are based on skill level and practice twice a week for 90 minutes to 2 hours. U10-U14 games are on Saturdays, half at home and half in towns throughout Middlesex County. U16, U18, and U19 teams play on Sundays.

At the moment (2/6/2012) there are spots on several travel teams. The cost, including the late fee, is $110. Please check the registration page to see which leagues are open and which are closed. We particularly need players for U16-U19 (born before 8/1/98).

[Registration for Fall will begin in May 2012. The number of teams will be determined based on registrations through late June.]
