LETTER: On A Positive Note

Kathleen Sullivan asks readers to stay positive in tough times.

One Salem Street, which will house Malden's new teen center, looks great with the new paint.  This building is a center point in a key intersection of our city center.  I hope everyone can see the positive effect this center will have on Malden Square and more importantly, the positive effect this center will provide to Malden's youth.

Open Gym started for Malden middle school students last night.  My students told me they had a wonderful time.  This is great for our kids.  Opening our schools, public buildings, and athletic facilities to the community is a positve move in the right direction. It is a step which will connect our citizens. It is "a step" to heal a wounded community.

Stay positive Malden.  It's tough to do lately, I know.  Each of us doing a small part will move our neighborhoods and our city forward.  Our community has much to offer.  It will be an even better city when each of us strives to do the right thing.  No one would claim it is an easy road but it is a road worth taking.
