The Somerville Road Runners are hosting their second Officer Sean Collier Memorial Run on Thursday, April 17.

The 4-mile run will start at 7 p.m. from Caseys Tavern at 173 Broadway in East Somerville.

No registration is required for the free run. After the run, the running club will be collecting donations for the Jimmy Fund in Collier’s name. You can also donate online here.

The run is in conjunction with the club’s annual pre-Boston Marathon pasta party, so there will be a buffet dinner with pasta, sauce, meatballs and bread following the run.

Collier, an MIT police officer, was allegedly killed by the Boston Marathon bombing suspects while on duty. Collier, a Wilmington native, lived in Somerville and was a member of the city’s auxiliary police.

For more information on the run, contact John Gorvin at 978-604-0906 or jgorvin@gmail.com, or visit srr.org.
